A native of Uruguay, Pablo
Rieppi is an active and versatile musician in New
York City where he performs in orchestral, chamber, jazz, rock, dance and
Broadway ensembles.
As a classical percussionist he performs with the New York Philharmonic,
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the New York Chamber Symphony, the American
Symphony Orchestra, the New York City Opera, American Composers Orchestra,
New York New Music Ensemble, Speculum Musicae, Da Capo Chamber Players, Ensemble 21, Absolute Ensemble, Columbia Sinfonietta, the
New York Percussion Quartet and Continuum at the Presénce Festival for new
music in Paris, France.
He has toured abroad with the International Symphony Orchestra under the
direction of Lorin Maazel and has appeared at such festivals as June in
Buffalo, Caramoor, Moab, Grand Canyon, OK Mozart, the Summergarden Festival
at MoMA and the Banff Center for the Arts in Canada.
Mr. Rieppi has recorded movie soundtracks, television scores and classical
music, and has performed in the Broadway musicals
Beauty and the Beast,
The
Sound of Music, The King and I (principal percussion),
Swan Lake (principal
timpanist) and Fosse.
In addition to his performing credits, Mr. Rieppi is active in music
education as Professor of Percussion at Hofstra University. Pablo Rieppi
received a Master of Music Degree and Professional Studies Certificate from
The Juilliard School, and a Bachelor of Music Degree from George Mason
University.
