A native of Syracuse, New York, oboist Jacqueline Leclair currently teaches
and performs in the New York City area. She is a member of the Cygnus
Ensemble, the Curiously Strong Winds, several new music ensembles, and
appears with many groups in New York City. She has recorded on labels such
as Nonesuch, CRI, Koch, Neuma, and CBS Masterworks, earning critical acclaim in
particular for her premiere recording of Roger Reynolds' Summer Island.
Universal Edition Vienna publishes "Luciano Berio's Sequenza VII Supplementary
Edition by Jacqueline Leclair." She has recently presented classes at schools
such as UCLA and the Eastman School of Music and continues to lecture at
other universities. Through her website and several instructional
publications, Ms Leclair further interacts with oboists, sharing ideas and
information. Ms Leclair received degrees from the Eastman School of Music
and SUNY at Stony Brook, studying with Richard Killmer and Ronald Roseman.
