Yukiko Sugawara-Lachenmann joins the Ensemble Sospeso during the 2000—2001 season for the April 5 concert of the music of Helmut Lachenmann, performing the American premiere of Mr Lachenmann's piano sonata Serynade.  A native of Japan, Ms Sugawara-Lachenmann has given performances worldwide of the most demanding works in contemporary literature, including many written for her.  She is married to Helmut Lachenmann.
