The Ensemble Sospeso returns to award-winning director Hal Hartley's recent work, The New Math(s), a short film with live music by Louis Andriessen.

The visceral minimalism of celebrated Dutch composer Louis Andriessen provides an essential link between the American 'downtown' scene and European postwar music; and filmmaker Hal Hartley's recent feature, Henry Fool, won him a best screenwriting award at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival, and was greeted with critical acclaim as one of the best films of the year.

2003 Grammy nominee Susan Narucki joins Sospeso for this special performance at Arts International, which awarded Sospeso the 2003 DNA Project grant.  Sospeso co-directors Kirk Noreen and Joshua Cody will also give a brief talk on the ensemble.

Admission to this performance is free, but seats are extremely limited.  Please email ensemble@sospeso.com to reserve a seat before Saturday, January 11.
