The
Ensemble Sospeso and AROSpace Productions present the Seattle
debut of the internationally acclaimed Austrian group Polwechsel:
Burkhard Stangl, guitar; Michael Moser, cello; Werner Dafeldecker,
bass; and guest artist Gene Coleman, bass clarinet. Their Seattle
performance features compositions by Mr. Coleman as well as
by the German composer
Helmut Lachenmann; Polwechsel will also perform free improvisations.
Virtuoso interpreters of avant garde classical music
and free improvisation, Polwechsel's performances ask audiences
to reevaluate the boundaries between composition and improvisation.
