The Ensemble Sospeso’s mission is twofold, encompassing performance and education. Its members are committed to developing and expanding an audience base through direct educational contact with young people. The Ensemble Sospeso is devoted to the restoration of musical arts enrichment preparation in the curriculum of this nation’s schools. Sospeso is committed to achieving this goal by actively and directly engaging young people with live performing art in intimate settings. This consists of workshops, master classes, in-school residency programs, special concerts, and performances for students from every grade level.

Co-produced by the Shoreline Arts Council, the Ensemble Sospeso’s Young Artists Workshop gives middle school and high school composers the opportunity to study composition privately over a ten week session. Works of these promising young artists will be performed by the Ensemble Sospeso at these concerts, along with other recent works.
